Industrial Electrician, Nairn Centre, Ontario
is looking for an Industrial Electrician to complete the
team of our Nairn Sawmill in Ontario.
- Perform preventive maintenance on
- Determine the existence of electrical
hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and
electrical apparatus to enable repairs
- Have knowledge of and use the
required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and
- Read and interpret engineering
drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical
apparatus to complete projects and assigned work.
- Repair, install and test the
equipment. (Variable frequency drives, motors, electrical control
- Design, install and maintain control
and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers,
and control panels
- Interpret the requirements of the
electrical code and ensure compliance.
- Respond to calls during the
- Repair or replace faulty
electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and
- Write, design and edit PLC
programming to make adjustments on equipment in the mill.
- Assist in establishing and
maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment
- Other related tasks
- Have a college degree in
Instrumentation / Control or a degree of professional studies recognized
for certified Electrician.
- At least two years of experience
in an industrial environment, preferably in a timber complex.
- Sawmill and/or planer experience
will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the Allen-Bradley
PLCs would be an asset.
- Familiarity with Occupational
Health and Safety legislation.
- Must be able to speak and write in
- Be available to work on shifts
including day, evening or night including weekends.
- Ticketed: Red Seal

& HOURS: $39.40 per hour. 12 hours per day –
continental shift and/or weekend shift
