When you join our team as a Database Administrator, you will be accountable for administrating, maintaining, tuning, optimizing, and monitoring various database applications within the organization. The DBA is also
responsible for monitoring and creating regular backup processes, data
replication, encryption, and data integrity checking.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and Optimize Databases: Oversee the setup, maintenance, and tuning of our databases.
- Boost Performance: Ensure databases run efficiently with effective tuning and monitoring.
- Protect Our Data: Establish backups, disaster recovery plans, and high-security measures.
- Upgrade and Migrate: Lead database migrations, updates, and upgrades across all environments.
- Automate Where Possible: Set up automated processes for routine tasks like monitoring and backups.
- Support BI Tools: Act as the go-to for Tableau and Microsoft Fabric support, from access management to performance tuning.
- Documentation: Keep records of configurations and processes.
- Guide and Assist: Offer support to team members and developers when they need database expertise.
- Data Safety Champion: Set up controls, encryption, and logs to make sure our data stays secure.
- Efficient Problem Solver: Jump in to solve problems quickly, keeping any downtime to a minimum.
- Reporting Expert: Provide insights and reports to keep management and clients informed.
- Collaborative Teammate: Work closely with DevOps, IT Ops, and data teams to keep systems running smoothly.
- Lifelong Learner: Stay current on database tech and best practices, always bringing fresh ideas for improvement.
What You Offer
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years in database administration, specifically with on-premise SQL Server and Azure.
- Skilled with both on-premises and Azure SQL Servers.
- Strong background in high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Knowledgeable in tools like SQL Managed Instance, SQL Spotlight, SolarWinds, Data Studio, Data Gateway, and Azure Portal.
- Confident using SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS for various data tasks.
- Solid understanding of security practices across hybrid environments.
- Leverage PowerShell to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Eager to understand the full scope of the business.
- Detail-oriented and ready to jump in to get things done.
- Skilled at resolving issues efficiently.
- Thrives in a cooperative, team-driven environment.
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal skills.
- Consistently stays on top of tasks.

What We Offer
Interfor has posted the following expected salary range that the company believes in good faith could be offered to successful candidates. The salary offered is benchmarked to current market conditions and will also be based on numerous factors which can include work experience, skills, credentials, education, and other relevant factors. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a competitive benefits package and be able to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Bonus plan, with the payout amount subject to individual and corporate performance. Expected range: $87,000 – $100,000 per year
