Accounts Payable Coordinator (12-Month Contract), Burnaby, British Columbia
When you join our team as a Accounts Payable Coordinator (12-Month Contract), you will be responsible for the timely processing
and maintenance of the Accounts Payable functions.
What You’ll Do
- Match and process vendor’s invoices with authorizing documents (purchase orders and receiving document).
- Verify all invoice extensions and totals, calculate discounts and sales tax where applicable, and input vouchers for payment within stated terms.
- Review invoices and check requests for proper general ledger account coding and approvals.
- Maintain organized electronic files for invoices that have been processed.
- Assist in submitting vendor maintenance requests online.
- Review vendor statements and communicate discrepancies to the vendor.
- Verify employee expense reimbursement forms for proper documentation, approvals, and coding.
- Vendor database maintenance, including setting up new vendors.
- AP payment processing.
- Research and answer AP-related inquiries for internal and external parties.
- Backup to other AP staff as required.
- Assist in any other areas as needed.
What You Offer
- Equivalent education level required – High school graduate; post-secondary education preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of data entry and/or accounts payable experience is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Basic bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
- Knowledge of Oracle is considered an asset but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting practices and procedures.
- Proficient in data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, deal with numerous interruptions, and meet multiple demands and deadlines.
- Able to communicate clear and concise information verbally and in writing in an accurate, informative, and professional manner.
- Maintain open, ongoing, and effective communication with team members, and internal and external parties.
- Problem analysis and solving skills.
- Maintain confidentiality.

Interfor has posted the following expected salary range that the company believes in good faith could be offered to successful candidates. The salary offered is benchmarked to current market conditions and will also be based on numerous factors which can include work experience, skills, credentials, education, and other relevant factors. If you have any questions regarding our salary range or our total compensation package, our recruitment team will be happy to advise you on what you can expect from us.
Expected range: $55,000 – $60,000 (CAD) per year
