Security Analyst, Peachtree City, Georgia
When you join our team as a Security Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the team in protecting the organization from cyber threats, monitoring
security operations, and enhancing resilience to security incidents.
As
a Security Analyst, you will apply your expertise to troubleshoot incidents and
manage escalations as needed. You will work closely with third-party vendors
providing EDR and MDR services, as well as internal systems, to identify,
investigate, and remediate security alerts and incidents. Additionally,
you will engage with end users, assess and classify risks, and collaborate with
IT teams to provide guidance on remediation efforts. Your role is critical in
ensuring the security and integrity of the organization’s IT systems.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in conducting real-time tactical analysis and remediation of security events, ensuring alignment with security policies.
- Support the creation of detailed incident reports and technical briefs for management, administrators, and end-users.
- Participate in the coordination and facilitation of internal and external audits, contributing to remediation efforts as needed.
- Assist in performing threat and security risk assessments, including evaluations of third-party and internally developed applications.
- Aid in deploying and maintaining security tools and solutions to ensure effective security management.
- Support the administration of cloud-based applications, applying appropriate security measures.
- Handle escalations from team members as needed, with support from senior analysts, to resolve security concerns.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay informed about emerging or escalating security risks.
What You Offer
- Security Fundamentals: A solid grasp of security principles, network protocols, and the tools and practices essential to IT security.
- Network Architecture: In-depth knowledge of network design, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPN configurations.
- Incident Monitoring & Response: Experience in supporting the monitoring and response to security incidents, ensuring comprehensive detection and mitigation across all systems.
- Cloud Security Expertise: Familiarity with cloud security concepts such as identity and access management (IAM), cloud monitoring, and best practices for protecting cloud-based applications and services.
- Platform Proficiency: Understanding of major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) along with their native security features.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Log Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing logs from various sources, including industrial controllers, servers, network devices, and cloud environments.
- Scripting & Automation: Basic scripting abilities with an interest in creating automation solutions for alerts and routine tasks, especially within cloud security operations.
- Proactive Learning: A forward-thinking approach to learning and problem-solving, with the adaptability to navigate complex security environments.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, critical for maintaining the integrity of systems.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
