Saw Filer – Night Shift, Monticello, Arkansas
Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to join our team as a Saw Filer – Night Shift in Monticello, Arkansas. Starting rate for this position is $27.01 per hour with the potential to grow to based on skill level and experience.
What You’ll Do
- Level and tension saws.
- Repairs saw blades (sawmill) according to customer’s or manufacturer’s specifications, using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment: Examines saw for defects.
- Grind knives for all machines that require knives.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Sharpen, change, shave, grind, adjust, maintain saws.
- Band wheel grinding.
- Operate a variety of sharpening machines and hand tools.
- Check for wear and tear.
- Make and grind guides for Gang
- Adhere to all safety regulations especially applicable to lockout/tagout procedures
- Perform any other work-related task deemed necessary by supervisor
What You Offer
- High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and standard practices of Saw Filer’s trade.
- 3-5 years Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
- Able and willing to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
- Team-oriented with a strong commitment to excellence in everything you do.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Know hazards and safety precautions associated with position preferred
- Excellent attendance record.
- Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, climbing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
