Silviculture Intern

Silviculture Intern, Timmins, Ontario

When you join our team as a Silviculture Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our Silviculture team on a variety of duties, including assisting with the implementation of silviculture programs on the Northshore, Pineland and Spanish Forests, monitoring silviculture contractor performance (tree planting, site preparation, aerial tending), and conducting various silvicultural surveys.

  • Salaries starting from $3,300 per month based on year in school

What You Offer

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized university or college forestry program.
  • Have a minimum of one field season of experience or an interest in silviculture.
  • Physically fit and able to spend considerable time working in a forested environment.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather and terrain conditions.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, ArcView GIS, GPS technology.
  • Work well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work with clients and contractors to produce positive results.
  • Demonstrate leadership and flexibility.
