What You’ll Do

  • Payroll Leadership: Oversee accurate and timely processing of hourly and salaried U.S. payrolls, including regular and off-cycle payments, deductions, taxes, reconciliations, and year-end activities.
  • Team Development: Lead and develop a distributed payroll team through clear goals, coaching, cross-training, workload planning, succession planning, and accountability.
  • Compliance Oversight: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Partner with stakeholders to support payroll configuration, testing, controls, data integrity, and ongoing payroll system enhancements and initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with HR Operations, Benefits, Finance, Learning & Development, and operational leaders to resolve issues and improve payroll service.
  • Process
    Improvement:
    Strengthen payroll controls, documentation, SOPs, audit
    readiness, business continuity, and consistent practices across U.S. locations.

What You Offer

  • Payroll Expertise: At least 5 years of progressive, dedicated U.S. payroll experience, including high-volume payroll and strong year-end knowledge.
  • People Leadership: At least 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, with demonstrated success developing employees and leading across locations or time zones.
  • Multi-State Compliance: Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local payroll laws, with experience supporting multi-jurisdiction payroll.
  • Systems Experience: Experience with a large-scale payroll or ERP platform is required.
  • Technical Capability: Advanced Excel skills are required; Experience supporting payroll systems, process improvements, compliance initiatives, organizational change, and CPP certification are considered assets.
