Loss Prevention & Risk Specialist, Peachtree City, Georgia

When you join our team as a Loss Prevention & Risk Specialist, you will play a key supporting role in our loss prevention
program to ultimately decrease the potential for damage and losses. You will report to and support the
Senior Manager, Insurance & Loss Prevention.

This position requires up to 20% travel to visit Interfor’s
mill site operations, and regular regional travel to mill sites in the US South.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and monitor the implementation of Loss Prevention standards, bulletins, and other guidance documents.
  • Manage and track the status of impairment report and key metrics, such as fire starts and causes.
  • Support operations in incident investigations regarding loss events such as fires or damage.
  • Collect and analyze data for insurance claims.
  • Coordinate Dust Hazard Analysis work and review reports.
  • Track compliance with standards set out in the Loss Prevention Handbook.
  • Provide support for regional loss prevention meetings.
  • Track the completion of recommendations and actions including internal field visits as well as actions derived from external consultants, auditors or regulatory agencies.
  • Advise operations on relevant building codes, fire regulations and industry best practices.
  • Data management
    • Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into applicable database systems.
    • Maintain fire incidents records within the safety database.
    • Provide administrative support for invoicing and insurance claims.
    • Prepare and distribute loss prevention reports to management on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.

What You Offer

  • Experience in safety or loss prevention is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows-based computer programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of loss prevention programs, sawmilling operations, or regulations would be considered an asset, but is not required
  • Valid driver’s license and passport is required.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and diplomacy.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to function independently, as well as proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Resourceful, self-starter with a passion for process optimization and risk mitigation.
