Industrial Electrician

Industrial Electrician, Belledune, New Brunswick

When you join our team as a Industrial Electrician, you will support the mill to run smoothly by ensuring everything has a place and that the yard and sawmill are clean. Working in a sawmill, you’ll discover that they do more than transform forest products, they also transform our communities.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform daily checks (continuity, current, voltage and resistance) and diagnostics on equipment.
  • Repair, install and test the equipment. (Transformers, regulators, motors, generators, electrical control system).
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Design control panels and install circuit power distribution.
  • Interpret the requirements of the electrical code and ensure compliance.
  • Responding to emergencies during breakdown.
  • PLC programming (A.P.I.).
  • Perform any other relevant tasks requested by the supervisor.

What You Offer

  • College degree in Instrumentation/Control or a degree of professional studies recognized for certified Electrician.
  • At least two years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a timber complex.
  • Sawmill and/or planer experience will be considered an asset.
  • Electrical/industrial control technology and/or equivalent experience with programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives;
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Be available to work on shifts day, evening or night. (possibility of working 7 days on/7 days off)
  • Efficient and organized.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with initiative.
  • Demonstrate collaborative spirit and initiative.
  • Analytical, conscientious and flexible.
  • Results-oriented, in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Bilingualism would be an asset
