When you join our team as a Communications & Content Specialist, you will be responsible for creating compelling
content to tell Interfor’s story across a variety of platforms and position Interfor
as an employer of choice and a responsible corporate citizen. You’ll get the

What You’ll Do

Plan:

  • Develop strong working relationships with stakeholder groups to ensure alignment between business objectives and communications strategies.
  • Research and write content for the company website, infographics and presentations.
  • Provide strategic communications support to various project teams/groups to develop comprehensive communications plans.
  • Build the content calendar, monitor various media channels, and sequence content and campaigns to maximize effectiveness and drive engagement.
  • Work with teams to build campaign plans and evaluate appropriate channels.
  • Coordinate and manage external vendors for advertising placement and content creation.
  • Manage any relevant budgets, adhering to all accounting policies set forth by the controlling, including billing, tracking, reconciling, AP, etc.

Create:

  • Engage with stakeholders to build compelling digital and print content, taking ideas from concept to production while adding value to the development process.
  • Develop and maintain design templates to optimize team workflows, while building upon existing design systems and files to ensure consistency and scalability across projects.
  • Create content for the company internal newsletter and apply to multiple platforms.
  • Maintain corporate website (www.interfor.com) to support branding goals.
  • Adhere to the company’s style guide, brand standards, and logo guidelines ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy, act as the brand subject matter expert.

Engage:

  • Build out social media communities (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok) and curate channel-specific content and be accountable for social media listening and engagement.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
  • Monitor performance of campaigns, adjust as required, and respond to media inquiries.
  • Possesses a keen understanding of industry trends, media conversations and cultural moments to find new storytelling opportunities that build Interfor’s brand relevance.
  • Assist with internal engagement with programs (scholarships, corporate giving, intranet, company events, etc.)
  • Support internal campaigns by contributing to clear, consistent communication across the company, both visually and in written form.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to elevate Interfor’s visual presence at tradeshows, hiring fairs, and other external events through strategic, brand-aligned design solutions.

What You Offer

  • 2+ years of experience managing campaigns from initial concept through to final execution, ensuring alignment across all deliverables and channels.
  • 2+ years of in-house experience executing design solutions within established brand guidelines, maintaining consistency and accuracy across all materials.
  • Strong understanding of production design workflows, including file preparation for press, color management, and liaising with fine printers to produce multi-process, application-specific print assets.
  • Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Experienced in managing communication ecosystems, including content management systems (with a focus on WordPress), digital asset management platforms, and social media scheduling tools such as Sprout Social.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and Microsoft Office Suite (OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience capturing high-quality photo, video, and audio content, including in challenging conditions such as low-light environments, is an asset.
  • Strong project management skills to lead, develop and implement campaigns, assess performance, adjust when required, and manage conflicting priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong ability to give and receive feedback and direction.
  • Confident storyteller who can distill ideas into concise and compelling narratives.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and visual hierarchy.
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional and remote teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment across time zones and project stages.
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a resourceful approach to challenges.
  • Strong verbal, written, and personal interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of HTML & CSS is an asset.
