Safety Administrator, Belledune, New Brunswick
When you join our team as a Safety Administrator, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the manufacturing safety program and objectives, data management, organization of safe work procedures, supporting the leadership team, and regular reporting of key metrics.
What You’ll Do
- Supporting and ensuring adherence to company safety processes and objectives.
- Facilitate, participate in, and/or coordinate employee involvement activities including safety committees, employee-led safety initiatives, safety improvement project teams, etc.
- Maintain the operational safety database, safety communications and safety tracking programs (incidents, Medical Incident Rate, visitor onboarding, assisting with emergency response drills, written safety alerts etc.).
- Participate in and prepare for safety and environmental inspections and ensure the management of compliance with regulatory safety requirements.
- Assist and/or facilitate accident/incident investigations – help with investigative process as well as ensuring follow-up actions are applicable and completed in a timely fashion.
- Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly/quarterly safety reporting.
- Provide support for safety meetings.
- Assist with site-specific training as required.
- Coordinate with the Mill Manager and HR Manager on the administration of Injury and Claims Management / Return to Work programs.
- Coordinating timely entry of data into the applicable database systems as required.
What You Offer
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- English and French bilingualism.
- Discretion in handling confidential matters; tact and diplomacy.
- Commitment to high safety and environmental standards.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to function in an independent manner as well as proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to problem solve.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new processes and different systems.
- Professional decorum.
- Resourceful, self-starter with a passion for process improvement.
