Sawmill Utility Level 2 Lead, Bay Springs, Mississippi

Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to
join our team as a Sawmill Utility Level 2 Lead in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Starting rate for this position is $XX.XX per hour with the potential to grow to $XX.XX per hour based on skill level and experience.

What You’ll Do

REPORTS
TO: Sawmill Supervisor
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible
for everyday operation and maintenance of the trimmer to correctly trim rough
green lumber to desired length.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (may vary by
division):
Responsible for the safe and productive operation of the trimmer.
Maintain a continuous flow of lumber through the trimmer in a manner that maximizes productivity and quality.
Straighten/ flip skewed and bowed boards on transfer chain.
Work with QC to ensure laser is properly cleaned and working properly.
Ability to safely operate chainsaw as needed.
Assist with changing saws.
Maintain all housekeeping standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsible for greasing and servicing equipment, and other preventative maintenance as directed.
Adhere to all safety regulations especially applicable to lockout/ tag-out.
Perform any other task deemed necessary to sustain operations by the supervisor.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Excellent attendance and safety record.
Have a good work ethic and use good judgment.
Ability to utilize time wisely and be flexible to schedule changes.
Must work well in a team environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to follow instructions.
Ability to recognize problems and to effectively communicate them clearly so they can be corrected immediately, through verbal communication, checklist, and work orders.
Adhere to all company practices applicable to employee as outlined in the employee handbook.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,
SKILLS:
High School diploma/ equivalent preferred.
Prior lumber operations/ manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge of trimmer machine operation preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking,
Standing, Sitting, Climbing, Bending and Lifting (Up to 50 lbs).
