We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor for our sawmill in Summerville, SC. The Planer Supervisor will be responsible for the safe processing and packaging of dry lumber on site. The
successful candidate will be an engaging safety leader that thrives on
managing a
highly motivated team in a technical and fast paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Set and communicate direction, while
    engaging and supporting team members to achieve excellence in all areas.
  • Manage safety of employees through leading
    by example, operate at the highest standards and conform to all
    regulations.
  • Ensure the wide range of products meet all quality standards and order specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee planer production, manning,
    and efficiency.
  • Manage and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cost, and maximize the quality, value, and recovery of lumber produced.
  • Supervise shift production and
    maintenance activities to ensure compliance with all site protocols
    (safety, housekeeping, hot work, environmental, etc.).
  • Manage budgeting (cost containment
    /inventory control /scheduling).
  • Manage and direct month end inventory
    process.

    • Ability to work all shifts
    • Strong computer skills utilizing Windows based programs and Microsoft Office
    • Post-secondary education is preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in lumber manufacturing or a heavy industrial environment
    • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
    • Lumber grading certification is an asset
