Licensed Log Scaler, Chase, British Columbia
Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to
join our team as a full-time Licensed Log Scaler in Chase.
Starting rate for this position is $39.20 per hour.
Applicants should live in or be willing to relocate to the Chase/Shuswap
Lakes area. This is NOT a camp or remote work facility.
What You’ll Do
Scale and grade logs in accordance with
BC Interior Scaling Manual
Assess logs in
accordance with company quality specs
Assess log lengths and mark for bucking
Conduct weighmaster duties as required
Use Ministry-approved software and handheld data-loggers
Maintain scale sites and infrastructure
Enter accurate data and maintain quality control
Adhere to safety and team collaboration standards
Available to work 8-10 hour shifts
Be willing to train on equipment such as wheel loader and log dump/tower
What You Offer
Valid BC driver’s license
Valid Interior BC Log Scaling License
Prior log scaling or forestry experience (1+ year preferred)
Physically fit and able to be outside for extended periods of time (in all seasons) measuring and assessing logs.
Technologically literate (comfortable with devices and software)
Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and calm under pressure
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Previous experience operating heavy equipment and a mechanical aptitude would be an asset
