Forklift- Shipping Department, DeQuincy,
Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to join our team as a Forklift- Shipping Department in DeQuincy, . Starting rate for this position is based on skill level and experience, up to $25.13 per hour.
What You’ll Do
- Operate forklift to load trucks and railcars with finished lumber.
- Check lumber for proper grade as logoed and tagged and against the loading diagrams or bill of ladings.
- Start learning to figure loads based on length of trailer.
- Perform daily check of forklift and fill out daily check sheet.
- Wrapping lumber to go onto railcars or trailers as ordered by customer.
- Neatly and correctly covering rail car with tarp as requested by customer.
- Operate sweeper.
- Break down lumber packages into ½ packs as necessary.
- Unload all dunnage and consumables as it arrives to the mill.
- Clean all areas of responsibility.
- Perform monthly inventory of finished lumber.
- Reface units of wood that are muddy or have forklift damage.
- Clean and spray packs with bleach that have mildew.Or if mildew is too bad, to through the unit piece by piece to pull out good lumber

- Expect all safety rules and policies are followed.

- Expect operator to be an individual of outstanding morals, integrity, and a leader amongst their peers.
- Expect attendance to be an example for other employees to follow.
- Follow any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or lead shipper.
- Expect that all loads either truck or rail to be loaded 100% accurately.
- Expect rail cars and trucks are loaded according to customers specifications.
- Expect lumber packages to be of excellent quality before getting loaded.You are the last one to see this lumber before it leaves the mill.
- Expect warehouse to be kept neat, orderly, and stacked to maximize room.
- Expect older lumber to be rotated out of the warehouse.
- Expect all trucks to get loaded in a timely manner (15-20 minutes) depending on travel for wood.
