Chip-N-Saw Operator, Bay Springs, Mississippi
Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team
players to join our team as a Chip-N-Saw Operator in Bay Springs.
Starting rate for this position is $24.72 per hour with the potential to
grow to based on skill level and experience.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain a continuous flow of logs through the Chip-N-Saw to the Vertical Saw Arbor (VSA), Edger, and Trimmer.
- Monitor flow of logs from infeed deck, by observing monitors and loading infeed chains with logs.
- Maintain scanning system for log turners and Chip-N-Saw.
- Straighten or flip skewed and bowed boards on transfer chains.
- Regularity clean scanners in order to remove splinters, sawdust, etc.
- Check laser alignment with Quality Control as needed.
- Check air cylinders, pins, and clevises daily.
- Ensure knife pockets are being changed when worn.
- Responsible for inspecting, greasing and servicing equipment, and other preventative maintenance daily or as directed.
What You’ll Offer
- High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.
- Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
- Able and willing to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
- Team-oriented with a strong commitment to excellence in everything you do.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, climbing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
