When you join our team as a Boiler/Kiln Trainee, you will be responsible for various portions of the silviculture program including the planning, and management of site prep, planting, stand tending, and survey activities. You will play an important role in ensuring our legal obligations are met

Job Summary
The boiler operator is responsible for monitoring
& maintaining efficient steam production, silo & fuel discharge
conveyor systems, opacity discharge, kiln and boiler maintenance scheduling
& repair, helping load lumber onto kiln carts when needed, keeping a clean
work area in & around the boiler/kilns/green yard/ silos/fuel system &
general safe operation practices.

* Shift and workdays will vary thru training.
Failure to the meet required duty levels will result in removal from the boiler

What You’ll Do
initial duties of the Boiler position are:
*Perform rounds of silo, boiler & kiln areas, inspecting operating systems, equipment, machinery, bins & various components of operation; document all activity, conditions, & issues
*Ensure proper chemical mix achieved daily
*Operate forklift to change out kilns, load kiln carts when needed & empty bins
*Perform soot blow, bottom blows & low water test procedures
*Perform grate rakes
*Maintain & repair equipment within capabilities
*Monitor & control opacity emissions & document & report excessive emissions as required
*Monitor kiln schedules, & inspect charges prior to loading in kiln
*Load & unload kiln charges in a safe & timely manner
*Perform hot check when needed following established procedures
*Perform kiln inspections & steam tests; make repairs within capabilities and report issues
*Monitor silo & hog bin levels; feed/hog-watch as required
*Grease kiln carts each shift
*Dump ash bins and follow TSA associated with ash
*Other duties as assigned by supervisor
