As an Industrial Electrician Trainee in Eatonton, Georgia, you’ll work alongside experienced electricians to learn how to safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the electrical systems and equipment that keep our sawmill operating efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals entering the electrical trade who are eager to learn, grow, and advance into a skilled industrial electrician role. The pay rate for this position is $23.07 per hour, with the opportunity for increased earnings as skills, experience, and qualifications grow.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the entire mill site.
  • Read, write, and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all Programmable Logic Controller (P.L.C.) controls, A.C inverters, or any other control systems throughout the mill site.
  • Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
  • Effectively manage and plan work to accomplish job tasks with minimal direct supervision.
  • Submit work requests.
  • Fill out completed work orders listing work done, parts used, and time taken to complete the job.
  • Perform any other duties in any area requested by Supervisor.
  • Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

What You Offer:

  • Current enrollment in a two-year technical degree in a closely related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work safely from elevated platforms and heights.
  • Willingness to learn to operate mill equipment to perform test runs following repairs.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
