Human Resources Generalist, Timmins, Ontario
When you join our team as an HR Generalist, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping the employee experience at our Timmins Operations. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, Eastern Operations, you’ll be a trusted partner to leaders and employees—coordinating HR programs, supporting labour and employee relations, and bringing HR initiatives to life on site. What You’ll Do
- Provide day-to-day HR support at the mill, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefits, and compliance
- Serve as a visible and accessible HR partner to employees, responding to HR, payroll, and benefits questions and addressing concerns as they arise
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation for hourly employees, including employee files, benefits, and payroll information
- Support employee engagement, community involvement, and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
- Partner with the Mill Manager and leadership team on employee and labour relations, including basic contract interpretation
- Administer HR policies and programs, including attendance, leave management, injury management, and return-to-work processes
What You Offer
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 5+ years of HR experience in an industrial unionized environment
- Strong working knowledge of HR principles, labour relations, and employment legislation
- Experience with recruitment and HR systems (ATS, HRIS, ADP Workforce Now)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills with strong attention to detail
- Highly organized, able to prioritize effectively, and willing to travel between sites
