Lead Planerman, Molalla, Oregon
Interfor is seeking a team player to join our company as a Lead Planerman in Molalla, Oregon. Starting rate for this position is $44.86 per hour with the potential to grow. Reporting to the Planer Supervisor, this self-motivated and results oriented individual will work within a team environment to provide quality service to the production group and complete preventative maintenance and improvements for the planer mill.
What You’ll Do
- Planer machine set up based on dimensional run schedule.
- Identify and troubleshoot planer machine defects and lumber issues.
- Sharpen knives and set up spare heads.
- Planer room preventative maintenance.
- Identify and repair failing equipment.
- Feed planer during breaks/lunches.
What You Offer
- The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in an automated lumber manufacturing environment working as a Planer Technician with strong mechanical experience preferably with Gilbert planers.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner, individually and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of lumber manufacturing processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance repairs.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to identify and correct planer defects and lumber issues.
- Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
