Highlights of the Role

  • Lead by Example in Safety: Champion a strong safety culture by upholding and enforcing all safety
    policies, procedures, and regulations, while setting the standard for
    others to follow.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce
    costs, and enhance the quality, value, and recovery of lumber throughout
    the manufacturing process.
  • Engage and Develop the Team: Supervise plant employees, conduct performance reviews, and foster a
    culture of open, respectful communication to support team growth and
    accountability.
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Maintain high standards of product quality and ensure compliance with
    safety, health, and environmental policies across all operations.
  • Promote Collaboration and
    Accountability:
    Work closely with production and
    maintenance teams to meet targets, address deficiencies constructively,
    and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Strong Communication and Leadership: Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with proven leadership in team environments.
  • Comprehensive Operational Knowledge: Experienced in all phases of sawmill operations, with familiarity in optimization considered an asset.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Brings strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to support operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Technical
    Proficiency:
    Highly proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft
    Outlook and Excel.
