Mobile Equipment Operator, Ear Falls, Ontario

When you join our team as a Mobile Equipment Operator, you will support the mill to run smoothly by ensuring the proper
flow of stacked and loose lumber in the lumber yard. Working in the sawmill
industry, you’ll discover that they do more than transform forest products,
they also transform our communities.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate mobile equipment (front end loaders) to
    safely and efficiently load and unload the sawmill, planer and kilns.
  • Transport stacked rough wet, rough dry and
    finished lumber bundles outdoors.
  • Loading finished and rough dry lumber bundles
    onto flatbed transport trucks.
  • Ensure smooth flow of process throughout the lumber
    yard from the sawmill outfeed, through to the finished product exiting the
    yard.
  • Clean, lubricate and inspect mobile equipment to
    ensure safe functionality of the mobile equipment.
  • Redo and stack bundles of rough and planed wood
    in the yard.
  • Perform clean-ups of the yard, including infeeds
    and outfeeds of the sawmill and planer or kilns.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure drying and
    stacking is up to standard and communicate with designate yard lead or
    supervisor.
  • During work downtime, clean areas that are
    inaccessible during operations.
  • Preform additional maintenance and other related
    duties as necessary.

    or GED equivalent preferred.
