Located in the dynamic community of Elk Lake, Ontario, at 560 km northwest of Toronto, close to the Quebec border, the site began operating in 1965 with only a planer, while the sawmill became operational in 1968. The division was acquired by Interfor in 2022 as part of the EACOM Timber Corporation acquisition.

Located in the township of James, Elk Lake’s economy is driven by a sustainable forest industry. The town also hosts a significant number of tourist camps and lodges offering excellent packages for the outdoor sports and nature enthusiasts.
