Interfor & Maintenance Training
Our Maintenance Training programs are for experienced maintenance employees who have demonstrated the ability to perform essential job functions of a Millwright and want to advance their skills, knowledge, and career. Participants from across Interfor’s US mills get the opportunity to learn the trade online, in the classroom, and on the job in the mill.
We encourage your success by pairing you with an experienced mentor for ongoing guidance and support. Upon completion, you will earn your Journey Millwright Certificate from the Department of Labor.
Millwright Apprenticeship Program
Interfor’s Millwright Apprenticeship Program will pay you to learn this highly respected trade as a Journey Millwright. The Millwright Apprenticeship Program is a three-year program that allows you to learn a new skill while you work. Learn online, in the classroom, and on-the-job in the mill. We encourage your success by pairing you with an experienced mentor for ongoing guidance and support.
Upon completion of the program, you will earn your Journey Millwright Certificate. As an apprentice, you will receive pay increases as you advance through the program. Learn the trade while remaining on the job and in the community. Preference will be given to current maintenance and production employees with one or more years of active service with Interfor.
Millwright Accelerator Program
This program is for experienced maintenance employees who have demonstrated the ability to perform essential job functions of a Millwright and want to upgrade their skills and career with a lesser time commitment than the Millwright Apprenticeship Program.
The Millwright Accelerator training consists of five weeks of pre-work consist of an on-demand virtual classroom, required reading and online assignments each week. A 5-day hands-on workshop is held off-site at Interfor’s Center for Trades Excellence in Perry, GA. Participants are from across Interfor’s US mills. Travel and meal accommodations are provided, if necessary.
