What You’ll Do

  • Lead the overall success of the Elk Lake operation, with full accountability for safety, operational performance, and financial results.
  • Direct and optimize all mill operations, including sawmill, planer, shipping, and maintenance.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, efficiency, and cost excellence across the site.
  • Inspire, develop, and lead a high-performing team that delivers results while living Interfor’s values.
  • Shape and execute the mill’s strategic direction, driving continuous improvement and maximizing operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Build strong relationships across the operation by fostering open communication, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Identify opportunities, solve challenges, and make decisions that drive the long-term success of the mill.

What You Offer

  • Strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of leading safe work practices.
  • 10+ years of supervisory leadership experience across multiple departments in the wood products industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of lumber manufacturing processes, equipment, products, and operational optimization.
  • Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement and operational performance.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to engage and develop teams.
  • Ability to work on-site and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Elk Lake mill.
