What You’ll Do
- Supervise, mentor and coordinate a GIS team, managing daily tasks, priorities and staff development while promoting best practices across forestry and operations teams.
- Lead spatial modelling and GIS data management, ensuring data integrity, quality control and compliance with government technical standards.
- Integrate GPS, drone, and LiDAR data into planning workflows, support forest management plans and field operations through mapping, inventory, and custom GIS tools.
- Maintain and enhance GIS platforms, automate workflows, create training materials and drive innovation through new geospatial technologies.
What You Offer
- Degree or Diploma in GIS or Forestry
- 5 years of GIS experience in forestry or natural resource sector
- Knowledge of GIS and remote sensing, scripting (Python, Transact-SQL), relational databases (SQL Server), Spatial Forest Estate Models, drones, GPS and field data tools
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; effective planner with solid communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills
