Treasury Accountant

Treasury Accountant, Burnaby, British Columbia

When you join our team as a Treasury Accountant, you will be responsible for accounting for cash management activities and bank reconciliations, and support for the Treasury cash management function.

What You’ll Do

  • Daily review and reconciliation of bank transactions on ERP & Treasury Management System. Investigate and resolve discrepancies as required.
  • Prepare accounting journal entries for cash management activities to general ledger.
  • Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations. Identify reconciling items and coordinate with the necessary Interfor departments to resolve.
  • Process wires for vendor payments, funding transfers, and intercompany settlements.
  • Prepare month-end interest accrual journal entries.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for debt, interest accrual and corporate credit card
  • Support cash forecasting process by gathering and analysing information from Interfor AR, AP, Tax, and Payroll groups.
  • Provide support and coverage for weekly reporting of liquidity and cash forecast information to senior management.

What You Offer

  • Minimum two years of accounting experience.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials would be an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Comfortable in a collaborative environment – good team player.
