Shipping Supervisor

Shipping Supervisor, Matagami, Quebec

When you join our team as a Shipping Supervisor, reporting to the Mill
Manager, you will be responsible for incoming shipments of lumber from our Matagami
sawmill. In collaboration with the
central planning and sales department, you will be responsible for forecasting
production and managing/tracking the inventory in the yard.

What
You’ll Do

  • Provide guidance
    and leadership to the team in the execution of all activities with the aim of
    meeting shipping deadlines efficiently, based on best practices;
  • Coordinate the shipment of orders by truck or rail ensuring, in collaboration
    with sales representatives, ensuring that deadlines and quantities are met;
  • Responsible for the preparation, planning and rotation of inventory by
    performing inventory counts in the yard and making necessary adjustments with
    operations to ensure rapid deliveries according to deadlines and customer
    specifications;
  • Monitor
    the quality of package storage and drying data between the results of the
    Matagami planers and dryers;
  • Responsible for weekly reporting of co-product deliveries, shipping, and drying
    quality;
  • Responsible for administering all shipping documents (Reports, delivery
    documents, order confirmation, truck loading worksheet and customs documents);
  • Ensure
    the accuracy of loadings and any special requests from operators and
    supervisors to meet customer requirements and needs;
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve discrepancies, as
    appropriate;
    Manage
    the department within the framework of the company’s policies, legislative and
    security guidelines (new entrepreneurs);
  • Prepare
    environmental and insurance audits as needed. Follow up with stakeholders in
    accordance with inspection results;
  • Perform
    any other related task.

What You Offer

  • Post-secondary diploma in administration, logistics or accounting;
  • Have
    3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Supervisory experience is an important asset;
  • Experience related to the field of logistics is an important asset;
  • Advanced skills in using IT tools (SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.);
  • Bilingualism is an asset for collaboration with external and internal sales,
    and customers;
  • Demonstrate leadership, be focused on results, quality and precision;
  • Strong organizational skills and effective management of time and priorities;
  • Demonstrate proactivity, flexibility and comfort in accomplishing several tasks
    in parallel;
  • Analytical mind and oriented towards continuous improvement;
  • Good
    stress management and ability to manage conflicts;
  • Strong
    ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
