Sales Assistant, Montreal, Quebec

When you join our team as a Sales Assistant, reporting to the Sales Manager, you will develop and maintain excellent
relationships with the clients of Interfor – Eastern Region to ensure they are
fully and completely satisfied as per our service commitments.

You will also be responsible for supporting the
sales team with any transaction that may have an impact on customers regarding
delivery times, prices, products, invoicing, and other matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the orders for our secondary transformation mill in Sault Ste. Marie based on production schedules and on production and shipping dates, as agreed upon with customers.
  • Act as the primary contact to manage relationships with customers and to process their orders in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Provide daily support to the sales team, which involves (but is not limited to):
    • Managing customer profiles, updating their contact information, and creating or updating shipping and delivery addresses and purchase orders.
    • Managing contracts.
    • Verifying product availability and following up with customers.
    • Handling calls as needed and liaising with contact people as necessary.
    • Liaising with accounts payable/receivable for all invoicing activities.
  • Contribute to the team’s success by helping to meet targets and performance indicators (KPI) and to uphold service commitment expectations.
  • Prepare analyses and reports as needed.
  • Manage files according to administrative procedures.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

What You Offer

  • CEGEP diploma in a field related to sales/customer service or any other relevant field or the equivalent.
  • Have three (3) to five (5) years of experience including significant customer service experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a similar role in the lumber industry is a major asset.
  • Be comfortable using computer tools, such as Excel and SAP.
  • Be bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Be curious and business-oriented.
  • Strong ability to listen and to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Be proactive and demonstrate discipline and organizational skills.
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain good business relationships.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and team work skills.
