Regional Manager, Purchasing and Stores, Montreal, Quebec

When you join our team as a Regional Manager, Purchasing and Stores, you’ll report to the General Manager, Finance Operations, and be assisted by a dedicated team of Buyers and Inventory Coordinators based in the Ontario and Quebec sites, you will be responsible to structure and administer purchasing platform from which all Interfor Eastern division operations can secure goods and services in the most efficient, cost-saving, and value-added manner.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, guide and supervise a team composed of staff dedicated to inventory, corporate purchasing as well as buyers for each site.
  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to maximize results and tie down Purchasing Department functionality adapted to the business.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and develop strategies to achieve financial goals, including cost saving initiatives related to utilities purchases.
  • Negotiate and manage master agreements with major vendors.
  • Provide support and expertise to negotiating contracts for capital projects.
  • Work with vendors to consolidate and standardize parts inventory at all mills.
  • Manage mobile equipment leasing program.
  • Ensure stores reorganization and functional improvement.

What You Offer

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Marketing or in any relevant field.
  • Over than 10 years of relevant experience in similar role in manufacturing industry.
  • Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) certification (asset).
  • Bilingual, French and English.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite and integrated management software packages such as SAP.
  • Be available and interested in traveling approximately 25% of the time.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • High sense of rigor and integrity.
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills.
  • People oriented coupled with communication skills.
  • Commerce acumen with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Action oriented and minded towards continuous improvement.
