We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator to work out our our Peachtree City, GA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for truck logistics coordination for shipments from
Interfor’s US Southeast operations.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for daily
dispatch of ready shipments to network of approved trucking vendors. - Work with
designated carriers, mill operations and the sales department to provide
value to our customers through timely delivery of managed shipments. - Manage the balance
between freight expense and achieving commendable customer service. - Manage Freight in
CarrierPoint (TMS) to help manage on time shipments. - Ability to pull
reports, and navigate efficiently in Carrierpoint to data mine, tender
loads for freight management and carrier performances. - Negotiate freight
rates and service conditions with trucking vendors. - Provide rate
quotes, routes and freight optimization for destination inquiries from the
sales department. - Set-up and maintain
freight vendors, Geo-Area Locations, and Customer Ship to Addresses. - Accounts Payable
processing and troubleshooting of freight payables. - Support the Manager,
US Southeast Logistics in finding trucking vendors to new destinations. - Distribute monthly
trucking rates to vendors/mills. - Implement quality
delivery initiatives and processes that support Interfor’s mission and
core values. - Demonstrate awareness
of customer needs and establish policies and practices to effectively meet
those needs through practicable and feasible solutions. - Work closely with Shipping
Supervisors to ensure adequate transportation capacity has been secured to
meet forward order fulfillment and delivery requirements. - Other duties as
assigned.
What You Offer
- Minimum 3 years of
truck logistics experience or an equivalent combination of education. - Post- secondary
education in Transportation or logistics is an asset. - Flatbed truck exposure
is an asset. - Rail exposure is
an asset. - Experience with
Carrierpoint TMS software is an asset - Ability to
communicate clear and concise information in an accurate, informative and
professional manner. - Ability to
multi-task and deal with numerous interruptions. - Strong customer
service focus. - Excellent
organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight
deadlines. - Effective problem-solving
skills and ability to find creative solutions to challenging situations. - Strong
organizational skills and attention to detail. - Maintain open,
ongoing, and effective communication with internal customers, carriers and
transportation service providers. - Self-motivated
with ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment. - Experience with
LumberTrack software is an asset.
