When you join our team as a General Manager, Sales & Marketing, East, you will
be responsible for leading the Sales & Marketing team within our Eastern
Canada and Atlantic Canada regions. Living Interfor’s Core Values and company culture will

What You’ll Do

  • Sets and communicates strategic direction and deliverables for the East Sales & Marketing team.
  • Play a pivotal role in developing, growing, and maintaining the company’s image, visibility and reputation in the North American marketplace.
  • Develop and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies across broad lumber categories in North American markets.
  • Engage the team to the achievement of the department’s objectives and acts as a “coach” by actively contributing to their professional development. Closely work with the mills to steer product development and processing that maximizes the value of product to the end-users.
  • Responsible for department objectives.
  • Manage/negotiate sales contracts with customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all members of the Sales & Marketing department and senior management.
  • Stays abreast of market and competition trends and activities.
  • Provide information to the sales and marketing team, as well as to senior management, as required.
  • Collaborates on any other mandate or project, as needed.

What You Offer

  • University degree in marketing, economics or business administration, or any combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the North American lumber industry.
  • Bilingualism in both French and English (verbal and written) is an asset due to the customer base being in both the US and Canada.
  • Accomplishments in developing strategies to maximize sales returns and margins.
  • Demonstrated sales competencies –business acumen, executive relations, credibility, sales planning and execution, negotiation, and value creation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Be available to travel as needed in Canada and the United States.
  • Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive/energetic team environment.
  • Capable of developing and maintaining relationships with customers while generating the best possible value for our products. Driven and results oriented.
  • Strong negotiating skills analytical, quick-thinking, innovative).
  • Extensive knowledge of North American lumber markets.
