What You’ll Do
•Adhere to company safety policies
•Safely operate a forklift to load lumber on trucks and rail cars to avoid customer delays
•Transport, set up, and store lumber packs between the lumber shed and production or kiln processes in a safe and timely manner to avoid downtime.
•Properly transport and stack packs to avoid quality defects and product downgrades
•Properly re-stack and band lumber for either shipment or storage.
•Keep lift paths, staging areas, and storage areas clean and orderly
•Keep reliable and accurate records i.e. lift inspections and operation/safety observations
•Clean around machinery, clean equipment and tools.
•Other duties as assigned by supervisors

What You’ll Offer

•Comply with work instructions, procedures, and company policies
•Exhibits professional conduct at all times
•Demonstrated commitment to Safety, including housekeeping and ability to multi-task
•Prior forklift experience in a fast-paced industrial environment and ability to operate a large capacity lift (35,000 lbs) proficiently.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Able to distinguish size, widths, lengths, or types of lumber.
•Able to keep up with production demands
•Able to follow oral and written directions and work with minimal supervision and have knowledge of basic mechanics.
•Willing to cross-train in various positions, be self-motivated, possess good work ethics and team work ability.
•Able and willing to work a rotating shifts, long hours and week-ends as the rotation schedule requires
•Forklift Operator Certification or ability to certify within a reasonable amount of time.
•High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
