Business Analyst (12-Month Contract)

Business Analyst (12-Month Contract), Burnaby, British Columbia

When you join our team as a Business Analyst (12-Month Contract), you will support the business
by cataloguing and maintaining processes for the application development team
to ensure business needs and expectations are met. The Business Analyst also proactively identifies
and streamlines existing processes to always ensure the team is performing
optimally. We are looking for a junior Business Analyst candidate to join the team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will need to be bilingual in English and French as they would be supporting users from both our Canadian Eastern and Western regions.

What You’ll Do

  • Liaise with the other technical and non-technical teams within Interfor to improve end user experience in the supported applications.
  • Maintain English/French translations on our supported applications.
  • Catalogue reports currently used by customers of internal systems.
  • Create and maintain process documentations for the team to support SLA agreement with the business.
  • Deliver product artifacts such as business requirements documents which include data mappings, transformations, use cases, stakeholders, etc.
  • Ensure documents are catered to the audience and maintained regularly throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with the definition and continuous improvement of BA processes and interactions with other IT areas.

What You Offer

  • Bilingualism required—English & French, both oral and written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or relevant field.
  • Certified IIBA or PMI Business Analyst (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP or CBATL) or equivalent is an asset.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application integration requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of database set theory and systems is an asset.
  • Practical knowledge of SQL language is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive/energetic team environment.
  • Able to communicate (written and speech) fluently in both English and French.
  • Ability to empathize and understand end-user experience to determine root causes of issues.
  • Customer Service focused.
  • Positive, proactive, detailed oriented and driven to succeed.

  • Willingness to keep up to date on industry knowledge through research, formal education, and vendor information.
