Appraisal Forester, Chase, British Columbia
When you join our team as an Appraisal Forester, you will be a key part of our
planning team that are responsible for all aspects of timber development. Our
foresters can balance a mix of field and office work and require a strong
commitment to safety and the environment.
The
successful candidate can reside in any of the surrounding communities including
Barriere, Chase, Clearwater, Kamloops, or in the Shuswap region.
About
the Shuswap-Adams Lake area:
Our woodlands
office is located at the sawmill on the south shore of Adams Lake. Sun peaks
resort, Adams and Shuswap Lakes, are in close proximity. Skiing, hiking, fishing are popular pastimes
in the area, and the miles of mountain biking and ATV trails located nearby
make the area an outdoor enthusiasts paradise.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare
and submit reappraisals into ECAS in a timely manner. - CP
postponements, amendments, and RP transfers in NROS. - Site
plan amendments consistent with FSP’s. - Government
and stakeholder liaison. - Checking
reappraisal field data collection both internally and through attending
PHARM audits. - Monthly
forecasting involving updating stumpage and working with accounting to clear
reappraisals once billing completed. - Key
participant in Regional Stumpage Working Group - Laise
with operations staff to ensure ops data collection integrity - Cutting
permit and ECAS submission
What You Offer
- Provide strong safety leadership
and the ability to identify and reduce risk throughout the operation. - An independent thinker with
strong work ethic and the ability to continually move forward. - Desire to develop and maintain
effective relationships with government agencies, contractors, First
Nations, and other stakeholders. - Detail and results driven.
- Must be an RPF registered or
eligible to register with the Forest Professionals of BC with 5+ years of
experience in a similar role. - Strong understanding of the
Interior Appraisal Manual and the Post-Harvest Appraisal Reconciliation
Model (PHARM) are assets. - Background in road and cutblock
layout, surveying, cruising and/or scaling. A working knowledge of
harvesting methods, including cable and tether systems are strong assets. - Tech savvy, and the ability to
learn new software and programs. Familiarity with forestry applications
like LRM, Enfor, and Tableau is an asset. - Dependable and high level of
physical fitness.

What We Offer
Interfor has posted the following expected salary range
that the company believes in good faith could be offered to successful
candidates. The salary offered is benchmarked to current market conditions and
will also be based on numerous factors which can include work experience,
skills, credentials, education, and other relevant factors. In addition to a
competitive salary, you will receive a competitive benefits package and be able
to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Bonus plan, with the payout amount
subject to individual and corporate performance. If you have any questions

Expected
range: $83,700 – $102,300 per year
